SECOND ATTEMPT (last chance)

 —
“I really appreciated, looking back on our collaboration, how richly you equipped me with so much more than just a thesis write-up. Like when you suggest edits in the text, but always comment on the ‘why’. That way, over time, not only did I start to feel the confidence to do it myself with new texts I had to write in the last week before the deadline - I also feel more confident now when I must write a report at work, or even an email. Or like when you briefed me on how to best approach my teachers at university: Monday morning - not Friday end of the day, giving him simply 2 options so he can swifly respond in between being busy. It had the effect we wanted, and I take many of these gems into my work now as a professional manager in my company”.

Was your thesis rejected? Do you feel insecure and unsure how to proceed? Do you have a hard deadline, coming closer, in less than 6 weeks?

Read on, to have maximum chances and minimum risk for your second and final submission attempt.

What you can expect
For this programme we gear up even more than if it were your first attempt to submit your thesis.

We help you with:
- interpreting feedback from your supervisor
- making sense out of your array of rubrics and handbooks
- the content - we are well versed with a spectrum of content fields at university and universities of applied sciences.
- improving the structure of your thesis
- improving your analysis of the results
- improving your writing and argumentation
- any methodological improvements necessary
- new energy and inspiration to make it to the deadline with weekly assignments

Your current supervisor
Your relationship with your supervisor at your institution is essential - we partner with you, and help you  make sense  of his/her feedback, determining the concrete changes you need to make.

We can also make sense of it all for you, if your supervisor is off the radar. We will use whatever feedback you have already received, and move forward from there.

Your unique needs
Perhaps you feel you have special needs. Needs that perhaps don’t fit in with how the university has approached you. Have a look at our section on ‘my struggle’ to see what you identify with, and let us know what you most need, so that we can further personalise the programme for you.

Boost your skills and confidence
This tight timeline may not seem to be the moment to  work on your skills, but from experience, we know you will benefit greatly from a crash course in writing skills and structuring your thesis. Have a look at our StudiOpedia to discover more.

Curious? To find out more about how we work and get an idea of what your programme will look like, week by week, have a look at how we work.

We would like to highlight the possibility of having a bi-weekly ZOOM call with us (instead of just weekly) as well as the possibility of meeting face-to-face for a marathon session throughout an entire day. If you want to do whatever it takes, we will match that energy.

TESTIMONIALS

“All in all - ever since the very first workshop at my institute related to the thesis - I’ve been struggling with my bachelor thesis for a full 2,5 years. Even if I still think my topic is beautiful, it was so draining and long.

And now I made it for my bachelor degree thanks to the thesis advise and mentoring, and can I continue in my job!

What helped me most is that Tikvah offered me  a structure, that I could uphold myself to.

Tikvah was also able to look with me realistically at the content. Obviously she is not the content expert herself, but she is definately an expert in structuring the content, and building an argumentation line.

She offered many tools, and helped me to get a clear structure in the text, and in my planning.

Tikvah is very sensitive to what each person needs, and adjusts to how she can best guide you. She kept stimulating me and was always open for questions.

Everything for the sake of finally rounding off this period, and even achieving a 7- grade! “

“A lot depended on this for me, since I failed my submitted thesis that had received a heavy insufficient grade. I realised the scale of the problem I had – so much needed to happen in a brief period of time until the new deadline, and the price of the thesis supervision by Tikvah was worth it for me completely, as it made perfect sense. For every hour I bought, I got so much value: this goes over and beyond thesis support you usually get out there, it goes from structure in the text, to how to plan my time optimally, and from content dialogues to laughter and more.

Perhaps the most helpful aspect of this trajectory with Tikvah, was how she made sense for me out of the immense amount of input I received from my institution of what was expected of me and of the end product - in the thesis guidelines, separate documents, workshops, the oral feedback over time from teachers and commissions on my failed product etc. It was a mess for me, I had no idea where to start even. Tikvah ensured I was crystal clear on what my institute would grade me on, and in case of doubt we cross checked with my teacher at the institute. Her way of constantly bringing it all together in 1 place only, was absolute gold for me. In the end, I received a green light, and I couldn’t feel more relieved, as now I can complete my 4 years degree and am a certified professional. In the same situation, with so much depending on it, I would have made the same investment to graduate – or even more, whatever was needed. This was a most pleasant collaboration.”
