HOW WE WORK
—“You definitely made me work. But for the better. Otherwise, I’m sure I would have woken up to the day, and felt, ah I am too tired today. But now, I had a deadline this week! And I had to work hard for it every week to realise it. And altogether now we arrived at the moment that I can submit my thesis.”

You can learn more about the artist and her work in the cross-over with science on her own website, Instagram or via TU/Delft. Or watch this brief documentary on YouTube.
Here is what you can expect from your tailor-made thesis programme with us, a structured, rhythmic approach for maximum impact that is great value for money:
Output and skills
We are output-oriented - because that is what you need for a pass grade (or above). But we also come alongside you, to equip and mentor the unique human and professional that you are. We offer you our undivided attention, as we only take a limited number of students at any given time.
Planning and approach
We base ourselves on the Quotation but have the flexibility to adjust dates/timeslots along the way. We use ‘rolling wave’ planning, which means we add detail weekly as deadlines approach (as opposed to making a rigid upfront plan which may cause unnecessary stress ).
Your supervisor at your institute
An important part of your work with us, is staying in touch with your supervisor at your institute. We give you all the guidance you need for optimal, effective communication with him or her.
Blended
The supervision is, usually, entirely remote. But we would like to highlight the possibility of meeting in person for marathon approaches.
Collaborative platforms
We use collaborative online platforms to ensure all your documents are well organised. This is to ensure as much calm as possible, in a time when you are already stressed. During ZOOM calls, we also work on whiteboards collaboratively, as a way to make remote work as effective as possible.
Bi/weekly ZOOM calls
We schedule weekly or even bi-weekly 1-on-1 calls with you. These form the basis of our rhythm together, and offer you structure in the week.
Our preparation
Your advisor reads your material in-depth and stipulates the steps to take. S/he creates small, authentic assignments that are doable and give you a sense of progress and success.
Your preparation
Every week, prior to the next ZOOM call, you submit the assignment that we created for you, and we carefully ensure that, put together, these assignments lead to an end product: the thesis. On time. At the required quality.
Our feedback
We carefully go through your weekly writing, and provide detailed, constructive feedback in track changes and comments. All along, we focus on equipping you to be able to do this work yourself and gain confidence.
Our training
In our bi/weekly ZOOM call, we discuss the feedback and whatever else comes up, as well as the planning. Where relevant, we give you extra skills training; have a look at our StudiOpedia to discover more about this unique approach. These skills stay with you, far beyond your graduation, into your future of work.
Our weekly follow-up
We follow through after each week’s ZOOM call with a clear and concise email, summarising the main feedback given in the call, and articulating the next assignment. Many of our students like to print this email: it stipulates exactly what you have to do that week and brings you simplicity.
Mid-term evaluation
Halfway through the programme, we do a rigorous assessment of your written text so far, using the same criteria/rubrics as your institute. We give careful feedback and advise on the quality to date, and align with you on where the main focus should be moving towards your final deadline. All to reduce risk, and optimise the quality, time, and cost investment.
This mid-term evaluation is also a good moment for you to give us feedback if you need something to be different. Although we touch base with you regularly already, and are open to making adjustments throughout.
Based on the mid-term evaluation, we assess how much work is still left - and fine-tune how many hours you still need. The point of departure remains the quotation estimate of hours set upfront (for more, see package for impact).
Final draft (to us)
When you submit your final draft to us, we assess your written work along the criteria/rubrics of your institute and give you thorough final feedback and advice in a dedicated ZOOM call.
You are then ready for the sprint towards your final submission.
Availability
We never leave you to manage alone, and are available throughout your final submission week, via email, phone, and WhatsApp. While your institute supervisor’s time is probably limited, we are available for personalised support throughout the process.
You can reach out to us on weekdays, during working hours - and in submission week also at the weekend during the daytime.
Evaluation
After you receive your grade from your institution, we have an evaluation call, to reflect on your strengths and future path - as well as to hear from you how we ourselves can continue to improve our work.
