A secretary supports a panel of experts in various assesment processes of the the Nederlands-Vlaamse Accreditatieorganisatie (NVAO) / Dutch-Flemish Accreditation Organisation.
Specifically these assessments include:
- instellingstoets kwaliteitszorg (ITK)
- toets nieuwe opleiding (TNO)
- toets na drie jaar
- accreditatie
The secretary is not a member of the panel, but works independly of the educational institution, the panel and the NVAO.
The secretary has the following roles:
1. Ensuring process accountability content-wise : the secretary makes sure that the panel correctly applies the procedures and guidelines of the NVAO
2. Provides support to the panel: the secretary carries some of the burden of organisational tasks for the panel of.
3. Acts a reporter: the secretary provides minutes of the meetings of the panel, records the visit to the location, and writes up the advisory- or evaluation report based on inputs from the panel.
Each round requires 12 half days of work.
The secretary is deployed through:
1. Various bureaus
2. Directly through educational institutions
3. STUDIOBLENDED’s own network
In this way, we will specifically gain thorough insider understanding of the accreditation criteria, juridical and administrative requirements for bachelor and master degrees at European level.
Also, in practice, we will be enriching our qualitative network within Higher Education in the Netherlands and Europe.

SUB-CONTRACTING
A secretary is formally trained directly by the NVAO to be ready to work within the formal accreditation system in The Netherlands and Belgium. To maintain their formal registration, secretaties must write at least 3 evaluation reports per year, and attend a professionalisation meeting once every two years.Each round requires 12 half days of work.
The secretary is deployed through:
1. Various bureaus
2. Directly through educational institutions
3. STUDIOBLENDED’s own network
KEY PROJECTS
Our independent senior advisor is entering a trajectory to be trained as NVAO secretary for accreditation panels (Autumn 2026). The NVAO is the respected Dutch Belgium authority for accreditation of degrees.In this way, we will specifically gain thorough insider understanding of the accreditation criteria, juridical and administrative requirements for bachelor and master degrees at European level.
Also, in practice, we will be enriching our qualitative network within Higher Education in the Netherlands and Europe.
